Top Ten Tuesdays #2 Creatures of the Night

     Whether they come from Hollywood or the many books we read there is nothing more alluring than the mystical creatures of the night. They may not exist but they still hold a certain appeal to us. they can be  terrifying dark creatures or misunderstood, brooding and sexy. The thing is they fascinate us. Their legends began long ago yet they continue to have a strong presence in our current time. We continue to tell their stories and fear the possibility of their existence. Though in most of our cases, we wish for a sexy vampire to appear in our lives all the time. *Cough Cough* Damon Salvatore lol. So here is a list of my top ten favorite creatures of the night that have inspire countless movies and novels.

1) Vampires - A vampire is an immortal creature that was once a human but must now drink the blood of humans to survive. 

Favorite Vampire: Allison from The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa 

2) Werewolf - humans who have the ability to turn into a wolf, usually during a full moon, though that's not always the case. 

Favorite Werewolf: Luke from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

3) Witch - A person who practices white magic or dark magic. There are of course different types of witches and a lot of history behind this creature. There is the medieval Christian belief that they are the devils spawn and then there is the pagan beliefs where they are more harmless and nature oriented. And of course many more.

4) Ghost - The disembodied soul of a person who has died. Sometimes they remain on earth because of unfinished business.

5) Angel and Demons - An angel is an immortal spirit who serves God and humanity. Whereas a demon is a sinister creature from hell said to be the messengers of the Prince of Darkness.

Fav Demon: Xemerious from Sapphire Blue by Kerstin Gier 

6) Faeries - There are many type of faeries but the most common ones are small and always in groups. They are the guardians of nature and are typically shy unless provoked. 

Favorite Fairy: Ash from The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

7) Mutants - A human whose genetics/DNA has been altered with that of another species. 

Favorite Mutant: Katy from Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

8) Aliens - A being from another planet/ universe. 

Favorite Alien: Daemon Black from Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout 

9) Zombies- A dead body, without its soul, that has been reanimated. 

Favorite Zombie: Karen from Generation Dead by Daniel Waters.

10) Special Humans - Humans who have special abilities such as telekinesis, psychic powers, etc..

Favorite Special Human: Kaitlyn from Dark Visions by LJ Smith
