My Review:

Anna Whitt isn't just an ordinary girl. Ever since she was a girl, she has known she was different. But she didn't know just how different. She always called her talents weird and freaky. Keeping them to herself and her adoptive mother. Anna can see and feel other peoples emotions. Not only that but she also has enhanced senses. When she turns sixteen she discovers that she is the daughter of an angel and a demon, something that is very rare, and that she holds special powers. But being the good girl that she is, never uses them. But then Anna meets Kaiden Rowe who is just like her. Kaiden is the son of the Duke of Lust and the total opposite of Anna. Together they must embark on a road-trip to find Anna's father and more information about who she is and her history. However on the road trip Anna's boundaries are tested and she must resist the alluring Kaiden or fall to temptation. Soon Anna uncovers many truths about her new life and the road that awaits her. Sweet Evil is a wonderful debut novel, perfect for fans of fantasy and paranormal genre.

Anna was a cool character. She was completely different from what I expected. I don't think I've ever read a book with a character that is such a goodie two shoes like her. While it was refreshing it also got a little annoying sometimes. But I did enjoy her character growth through out the book. Now, Kaiden Rowe was perfect. He is everything you would look for in a bad boy. Aloof and irresistible. And I found it amusing that he was the son of the Duke of Lust. It was a really interesting dynamic. The sexual tension between them was palpable. They were such opposites and that made it so much better. There were lots of steamy scenes in that relationship. My only complaint was that it was basically insta-love. Anna fell for him within four days. But I guess it was necessary to create some tension and angst between them. Now lets talk about the world building . I didn't expect an elaborate world. I just expected the book to be all about the romance and a little bit about the supernatural aspect of it.  But I was wrong. The world Wendy Higgins created is much more complex. Some things where hard to keep track of like the Dukes, the nephilim and the angels. But once I got onto it I was really entertained. I had no idea where the story was going and that made it worth it. This book was great at setting itself up for the next book in the series. It built this mysterious world and set the plot for what I think is going to be an amazing series. Wendy Higgins outdid herself. The writing style is superb, the characters are charming and the world is captivating. I've never read an angel/demon like this before. I can't wait to delve into the next one.

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
